Gilmer County features a variety of ways to explore or adventure! Get exercise along miles of hiking trails, or by paddling a boat across the lake. Bring your own boat or canoe and traverse the waters of The Little Kanawha River using one of five public stream access sites.

Home to campgrounds, hiking trails, and Camp sites galore, Gilmer County also features the Cedar Creek Backway, a public shooting range, and 1,674 acres of Wildlife Management area. Or hike one of the advanced trails at Cedar Creek State Park

  The Cedar Creek Road Backway is perfect for bicycling.
    
• Camping
  Tents and RVs are welcome at both Gilmer County Parks.
    
• Hiking Trails
  The State Park trails vary from easy walks to adventurous treks.
    
• Paddle boating
  A nice casual way to enjoy the water, without getting wet.
    
• Public Stream Access
  Gilmer is home to five public access sites.
